I just started a new chore chart at out house. The background and grid are vinyl. The wood knobs are wood pieces I bought at Hobby Lobby for about $3 for 14, and the magnents I bought at Walmart, 50 for about $5. My sister has a chart similar to this one and she wrote on the knobs. She has fabulous handwriting and hers looks very nice and still professional. I wrote on one of mine and it looked really lame so I decided to go ahead and do vinyl on the knobs. Vinyl on the knobs was hard because the writing is so small.
We also have a spiritual time column which may be something others wouldn't want. That can certainly be taken off, it is just something our local church leader encouraged us to do and so we decided to put it right into the chore chart. A chart this size would be $30.
