Great Gift Idea - Name Blocks

I just LOVE these!! I think they are great gifts and so fun to display in the house. They're super cute, inexpensive, and thoughtful. You can do so many different things with them. A family name, holiday decor, a children's room. Plus, it only takes a few steps to make. I only have a picture of the finished project, but below I have step by step instructions. Not as cool as pictures with each step, sorry about that.

Step 1
Find some 2x4's and cut them the size that you want them.

Step 2
Paint the edges. Or if you don't want to use paper for the design, you could choose to only paint it.

Step 3
Choose the paper you want and put a layer of modge podge over it. Wait for it to dry before moving on to the next step.

Step 4
Place your vinyl letters on the top and add more modge podge. Then if you want to pretty it up even more, you could add a ribbon.

Have a good day, and happy creating.

Valentine's

Here's some Valentine fun.
I've been working on these Valentine's and having so much fun. I want to make them for the kids to take to school but my husband thinks we should use the ones we bought two years ago after Valentine's Day. He's probably right but these are so stinking cute. I guess we'll just have to send some to the cousins this year.
Some of them are on gray card stock, that's just what I had access to, and they didn't turn out as cute as I wanted. So after that I started putting vinyl on top of vinyl to get the color underneath that I wanted. It was super fun. I'm planning to make more just so I can try some new ways of layering them.

My kids love the Ninja Turtles. They wanted their room decorated in Ninja Turtles. My living room is painted green and a few years ago I bought this color green for the living room, started putting it up and hated it in there. So we've just been storing this paint. Luckily the kids like the Ninja Turtles so I could paint their room with it. We still have over a gallon of it. I don't know how many rooms I can paint in green. LOL
It was a whole process getting them up. They were my first vinyl project, so it was an interesting one. I originally just planned on putting up the masks with eyes on it but after I got one of each up my husband thought it would look so much better if we just did an outline of their heads. And since the wall was already green, we really only needed the outline. It took a few tries to get the size right but I figured it out and voila.
I don't feel like the pictures do the room justice but that's the best I could get. There are four boys living in this room and since there's four Ninja Turtles, they each have one that they pretend to be. It's a lot of fun . The placement of them on the wall isn't my favorite but I let the boys choose where they wanted their turtles. There are 4 of each color.
If you'd be interested in these or even another character, just email me and I'll see what I can do. Have a great day.
